oooooohhh can I spot you.

So basicly you wear thge apprel only if you are in a competition? Just checking. I actually like squatting while wearing jeans. It makes me feel secure/stable. (weird I know)

not really wierd..your jeans are acting as briefs
i would not wear any type of equip unless you are going to compete..

equipment will create inefficiencies in other areas that will need to be worked..
aside from te protective equip such as belts/wraps sleeves i wouldnt use anything else if not competing

It would take one time of trying to get into a squat suit for most people to say that they are never going to attempt it again. Definitely not worth it for the vast majority of lifters.

LOL good point
or all the annoying questions you will get if you lift in a commercial gym by people who dont really want to hear the answer anyway lol
:insane2:

if you have prior injuries or are getting old like pullinbig :insane2:
squatting in a pair of light to medium duty briefs when you go heavy isnt such a bad idea .

I do

Sp a pair of briefs would be good for me. I was thinking of trying a pair of their shoes. Sneakers seeem unstable.

I wear something loose that won't tear. I've ruined too many pairs of pants squatting to mess with something tight fitting that isn't stretchy. Jeans = bad idea for me.

i squat in addidas olympic weight lifting shoes.

Some guy at my gym was telling me he squats barefoot. This just seems like a bad idea to me. Don't you need more arch support or something like that?

I squat barefoot. I don't think you need to worry about arch support if your feet are stationary. But I could be wrong.
