I've been on test cyp at 500mg a week for a long time, the avatar you see is my current body type. Idk if I should up my test dosage or what. Any ideas?

What do you mean a long time? Are you eating more as you get bigger or following the same diet?

Def need to get bloods done see where your T-levels are. You should easily be >1500 at that dosage. That may prove what both we here and you suspect (gear could be bunk or underdosed) Exactly how long have you been on?

While I agree with the guys above, don't forget a very simple rule: as lean mass goes up, so does the caloric needs. You may have started needing 3500 calories to grow, but over time, it could easily move to 4000. Eating less than that puts you in maintenance, which seems like you're stalling out or plateauing (or bunk gear worries) - when it's just your body following the rules of calories in vs calories out. :)

Take a break ? If everyone could grow infinitely people ( on stage) would be EVEN bigger than they already are, your Avi looks great !

Ur young I can tell...both from your skins elasticity and this THREAD s impatient cry out for sum explaining. Your not to young and not to be disrespectful but surely you realize everything plateau s and u can t keep just upping the dose.

A time off gear , a time not being shredded given your race , some time off gear...all will be condusive, I m h o alone, will yield what u want-gains. Plus we look at ourselves in mirror way to much right, Matt007 ?--- and gains do diminish. They do not stop but the leaps forward do, they turn into walking and then crawling forward..but still forward.

And then you ll be old like me and clawing to stay the same. Ease up. Give yourself, your body ie hpta, connective tissues etc...time off.
( not to mention people around you. Go get a tattoo....?)

You've been basically cruising for a long time on 500mgs. Gotta take a break man. Agree with teutonic...

Yep. Sounds like time to make a change if you want something to change...not the amount of your dose btw. ^^^

What is a long time? What the guys have said worked for me. I was on for 16-18 weeks and plateaued it took me a while to figure it out. I tried to up and up and to no avail. I dropped my test to 250 wk as well as I took a few days off, still eating. I the did a mild maintenance workout for two weeks.

I jumped back on and had more energy, stamina and drive my appetite went up. It was a good thing.
Keep in mind getting rest is one of the keys to training.

OH as was said, you look great!

Me and my wife almost had a divorce and I went through some
Depression times and lost appetite. Maybe I'm
Just not getting enough rest, or eating enough right now. Still kinda stressed due to is still working on the marriage and me going Way outta my way to make things work with a marriage counselor and reading books.

And a long time like I've been on TRT for
About 8 months now

Ya know stress and a marriage divorce for some of us (me) can take more energy than you know. You body isn't focusing on building itself but just maintaining and hanging on to what it's got. The mind effects everything you body is doing. It can throw off your chemistry in ways we or your blood work won't show.

If you've been on 500mgs for that long, do I have that right 8 month, well that' a long tie and certainly not TRT. You know Teutonic gave you some good advice. I 've gotten to listen to him and he knows a lot and from what I can tell he is a patient guy. Re-read his post.

I suggest you back down 200mg- 250 mgs look and manage your blood work. Concentrate on you personal problems because you know you'll get nowhere if you don't get your head together. I'm a bad case of Bi-Polar I and know how the mind can take a lot out of everything you're doing and you don't realize it.

Settle down be patient with your training and let be a source of a stress reliever, a relaxer so to speak. Don't use it as an aggression type of workout but just that good tightness and relaxed sleep. Backing down on the AAS will also slow some of your aggression. All this I say so that your BODY and MIND can have break. Then after a few months and you will know when you can get right back on the saddle, put a cycle together, eat like a pig and train like a beast.

My guess you won't be able to gain the way you want until you give my suggestion a try. You will feel better and as Teutonic said (I think it was) get out from the mirror.

That's an oldmusclemike's theory and 2c. Good luck

You hit all of the "no gain" high points. Not enough food, too much stress and not enough sleep.

Give your body a break. You already look awesome. You can afford a few months of "coasting".

OP

I wish you well w the marriage thing and I guarantee THATS the underlying reason for your plateau. U left that part out, understandably but divorce or a scenario like it is akin to a death in the family.

Prioritize---the weights, ur crew at the gym are GOING NOWHERE. Upon fixing ur marriage and I really hope u do is job 1. This life isn t going anywhere...

I honestly hope it gets better.

We are a lot better now, going to marriage counseling and church all the time. I'm gonna take some time off. And get my mind right for about a month or 2

You got it man. Ya know the pressure of your BB wasn't helping you heal the marriage. I was married 36 years, hang on it takes work with both of you/ Remember to be Humble and keep a gratitude list in front of you. Good luck.

Op,

You've gotten great advice from these guys so I have nothing to add except good luck and good luck with your marriage. BB will always be there but a truly great woman....I think you already know!

It has been my experience that Plateaus were from over training or an improper diet. Like others are saying take a break and eat well. If I'm training hard and take 3 days off, I will always come back stronger. I mean 2-3 more reps on every lift.
