Best Non-Dairy (Milk) Protein?

Anyone have a favorite brand of complete protein which is not derived from dairy?

I ask this because many trainers recommend staying away from ALL milk based products at least three weeks out from a contest.
 
Id avoid all protein shakes period. Get all your protein from whole food sources that close to competition.

Is it because whole foods require more energy to digest, thus greater fat loss?
 
Yes and the chemicals that go into various protein shakes dont help with getting paper thin skin before a competition.
