lets hear it boys ,, what are your favorite shoes to squat in . . .

no shoes...lol. actually, i just use my tennis shoes, but i was thinking about going in my socks (if the gym allowed). I hear many do that for a better feel of the floor and more balance.

i use these 3 year old addidas and they are flat as hell I use them for squation and deadlifting.

One thing is for sure , they smell pretty bad

where a pair of chucks or a hard heeled lifting shoe or boot. You don't want a bubble or soft material in the heel, as it will differ in depth depending on weight on the bar and may pop. I wear chucks, alot of guys where adidas lifting shoes, my friend John Bernor (one of the best in the world) where a pair of boots every time i have seen him squat.

Converse are awesome when it comes to squating. If you´re using a wide stance, converse may be the best squating shoe out there.

That's what I do. I workout at a typical gymrat gym and there is never anyone in the room where the power rack is so I just kick off my shoes. I find it very comfortable and I feel more stable on my feet. I can really feel where I am pushing from so I concentrate on pushing with the heels.

x2 - No Shoes is the way to go

chuck taylors all the way. regular shoes push you forward, so its harder to drive off of your heels. also, a lot of the newer running/tennis shoes, have air pockets in the soles... try squatting 800 lbs with air in your shoes. see what happens lol...
