Bipolar medications on first cycle

Hi, I am starting my first cycle next week. Test E 300 mg a week. I am ready to go but recently started medication for Bipolar 1 disorder. Depakote 1000mg a day and Lamictal which I will increase the dosage but right now am only doing 25 mg EOD.

I understand that anyone with bipolar disorder is going to experience more extreme cases of mood swings on test from an increase in hormones but I think I can handle that. My question is will there be any unhealthy reaction between either of those meds? I searched the forums and google and found mostly articles dealing with SSRI's which I am not taking. I am getting blood work done Monday for the Depakote and plan on starting my cycle after I get the blood work done.

If there isn't any negative health effects from combining the two I will continue to take them so I will stay more in the middle and less moody (especially for PCT). What do you guys think?

I can't tell if you are truly thinking this, but if you are, then maybe my response will help:

You are going on 2 heavy duty meds with serious and complex side effects, that are trying to stabilize your mood.

I have seen people with emotional problems start cycles...it generally intensifies the problems. There is already a touch of hypo mania with going on testosterone, you would probably have problems sleeping.

The post cycle would intensify the depression. Clomid is infamous for making people emotional,, me included! Hate the stuff!

And lets not even get into the erectile dysfunction, pretty much across the board, medications meant as mood stabilizers reduce libido and oftentimes cause limp dick.

The reason why you haven't seen much written about the drugs you are already on and steroids is because it's a bad idea on many levels.

Maybe wait a month until your meds have kicked in and you will realize that what you want to do is simply a manic episode?

thanks for the response. I have only taken them for a week and I am already questioning the depakote. I guess it is effective in stabilizing my mood but i'm tired all the time and have lost some libido.

I do wonder though if on cycle it could actually help stabilize me a little bit. I'm just going to start my cycle next week as planned and see how it goes.

I can't stop you from doing stupid things, but maybe I can get you to wait until you understand the full effects of the meds you are taking. Being manic feels really good, and you are probably missing that magic. doing and recovering from steroids are hard on emotional states, and if you have some addictive tendancies, you may spiral into some places you may not enjoy.
