Any of you guys who lift heavy concerned with high blood pressure? Apparently mine is on the high side but nobody has really instructed me to do anything about it. Have you guys changed you diet as a result or does it simply come with the territory?

Do you do cardio?

If not I would add some into your program. High BP is real bad... known as the silent killer

Just had mine checked on friday before surgery and its fine, used to be a little high but since i cleaned up my diet it been great ever since.

not a ton of cardio . . .elliptical for a half hour every once and a while . . .

Yeah I think I'm going to need to start incorporating more cardio. It's always so hard when I go to the gym to do cardio . . . I look over at the weight room and the cardio machines and the decision is pretty easy . . .

Beer and Pasterys like Pies, sausage rolls, and fast foods etc. Most of this was bad habbits as a teen when your young your indestructable but that feeling wears off as you get abit older. Anyway they were the main problems and after that I cleaned it up I noticed a sense of wellbeing so I dont plan on goin back to my old ways.

I now take a combination of two Rx medications for hypertension. High blood pressure is the leading indicator for heart failure or some shit.

first of all, who told you that you suffer from high blood pressure??
the optimal value is 120/80. blood pressure that over that limit 139/89 called a high.
if you do suffer so go to the doctor and take care of yourself, he probably know what to do with you.
anyway dont start to take medicinal care like: NORMITEN,NORMALOL. until you will have a choice because it will be permanent.
so do a blood test of cholesterol and triglyceride to find out if your problem is not from them.
may be it could be a water accumulation.
try to do more cardio....
i hope u will be fine buddy...

dr. told me . .routine check . . it's only a little high and nothing I would need medication for . .although good lookin' out. I just remember someone saying once that bigger guys who lift heavy weights typically will have higher blood pressure

bullshit!!!!!!!!!
im 210lb. squat 550lb deadlift 594lb bench press 330lb.
and my blood pressure is 110\60 (low).

in my opinion your not suffer from blood pressure. to know if you suffer you should check your BP twice a day for a week firt check in the morning and the sec in evening at the same hours for example 7am-7pm.
dont forget to sit and do nothing before the check, rest for a 15 minutes.
if the values find high so regretfully you suffer from high blood pressure.

please, update me and tell me after your weekly check if something wrong with you...
goodluck bro'.........
