"Resident BadAss"
I just received my lab results from blood & urine testing for my life insurance. I will try to list as much as I can and hopefully people can chime in on what a lot of it means:

FULL BLOOD CHEMISTRY RESULTS

GLUCOSE - 73
FRUCTOSAMINE - 1.6
CREATININE - 1.1
ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE - 56
BILIRUBIN - 0.7
AST (SGOT) - 47 H ??? (THIS WAS IN THE ABNORMAL COLUMN) Normal is 0-41
ALT (SGPT) - 53 H ??? (THIS WAS IN THE ABNORMAL COLUMN) Normal is 0-45

GGT (GGTP) - 17
TOTAL PROTEIN - 6.8
ALBUMIN - 4.6
GLOBULIN - 2.2
CHOLESTEROL - 149
HDL - 60
LDL - 62
CHOL/HDL CHOL RATIO - 2.5
LDL/HDL RATIO - 1.04
TRIGLYCERIDES - 134

Can anyone tell me about this analysis? I just received this in the mail tonight so I haven't had the chance to consult with my physician yet. Also, I got some urine analysis testing, and there were some things regarding white & red blood cells that both had "NP" beside them. I don't know what that means.

I did test negative for cocaine. lol

Why is my AST & ALT readings high? It seems like these numbers reflect an enzyme found in varieties of tissues & the other is present in tissues, but most importantly in the liver.

I hope these being a little on the high side isn't bad.

I'm currently taking Tyler's Detox Factors for liver protection for the Var I'm on, FYI.

I'm nervous about this AST & ALT tests.....

I don't understand how they could be abnormal when I was off-cycle when the testing was done, and my last cycle was 2 years ago in 2005.

It makes no sense at all.

Is this a serious issue?

I don't drink alcohol. I did drink red wine for a while during November-January, but haven't had any since then. I haven't taken any supplements from 2005 until now except Thermorexin. And it's only been "1" pill per day, and that's a LOW dose.

My cycle in 05 was consisted of Dbol, but at a low dosage of 25mg per day at max for 7 weeks.

It's freaking weird, and hopefully this isn't such a huge issue.

I'm thinking my cholesterol profiles are normal, and hopefully this .5mg/ED & EOD in the future won't F them up.

UGH....

If you are currently on var, these slightly elevated liver enzymes are to be expected and are definitely nothing to be worried about. The liver is a very tough organ.

Actually your bloodwork looks really good. I am especially jealous of your lipid profile. Your HDL looks awesome considering you are using var.

"NP" means "not present" which is a good thing.

Dude, I have seen thousands of people's blood work. I have seen very very very high liver enzymes. Your bloodwork looks great. You have nothing to worry about.

By the way, your doc might think it's a little odd for you to have elevated liver enzymes if he does not know you are on var, so be ready for some questions about that.

From what I read he got the tests taken before the cycle started so if he has already got elevated liver enzymes and then starts var it can be worrying

Your AST/ALT can be thrown off from heavy training as well.
that is correct . good point

rich genetice do you use much in the way of over the counter meds like tylenol , etc.
tylenol is VERY stressfull on the liver .

The test was taken before I even started my cycle.

I do tend to pop tylenol a few times a week, and I take xanax & klonopin every day as well. I don't know if that is making it higher.

I did hear that heavy training could be the reason, so maybe with all these factors, this is the reason for the higher number.

Should I up my tylers liver detox to 2 pills 3x a day?

My orals I'm currently taking are Anavar @ 40mg/ED. At this dosage, I was planning on running it for 10 weeks.

With Tylers, hopefully this will keep my enzymes lower, but I don't know. I'll be getting blood work done immediately following my cycle to check not only liver, but test as well.

Thanks for the responses. I was happy to see my cholesterol was in great shape.

have there been any studies on Tylers? Everyone swears by it but I've never seen any data.

you can use google-scholar to find studies with your drugs to see if there were any toxicity issues. that'll tell you if the xanax or klon have anything to do with it.

Dont' know, but I bet I know someone who does: MACRO???????

Yeah, I'll do that google search.

I'll stay with the tylers, as I trust AF.

How much Var were you taking a day?

I was under the impression that at around 40-50mg/day it was relatively mild on the liver?

Deep down I thought the same thing, but I'm not educated enough on it to give out info like that.

It seems I've heard that it's definitely milder than most 17aa aas.

I would love to hear more about this.

I don't think your elevated alt and ast are from your liver. I say this because if they were your ggt would also be high and it's not. I suspect that it's just from hard training. Transaminase levels are from cell death and inflammation, transaminase is the “t” in alt and ast. You can have these levels from hard training. I have had my alt in the two hundreds from hard training. This means that some of my muscle cells exploded and released transaminase into my blood stream. I suspect it's the same for you. Don't worry about your liver until your alt is in the thousands and your ggt is very elevated. Right now you are fine.
