Hi all -

Just a quick thought - do more carbs when bulking = better strength gains in your EXPERIENCE and OPINION.

How many carbs do you guys aim for when bulking?

What kind of ratios?

Thanks.

cutting/keeping carbs too low (less than ~100) will usually hinder performance, so yes, to some degree, carbs do = more strength.

In my experience low carb helped me lose some fat and strength gains ceased. Increasing carbs (mainly oatmeal, fruit, and wheat bread) I was able to increase strength in lifts again. Look at sample diets on this board and you will see ones for cutting and bulking, and hopefully you are more dedicated than me as diet is huge when trying to gain muscle.

Boiling it down into lamen term....yes. Carbs are the fuel as well pull water molecules into the muscle fiber. Not that low carb diets can't help with strength gain just not as fast.
