This might be a bad question but I was just reading an article about "Net" carbs and I am wondering if 10g of fiber cancels out 10g of carbohydrates?

like 10g fiber + 10g carbs = 0 carbs?
no... 10g fiber + 10g carbs= 10g carbs.

Fiber is very important so I would rec having it a good high level.
with only carbs it would be worse then with fiber, but i would NOT call that canceling anything out.

if the 10g of carbs is all from fiber then it does not impact your blood glucose... thats what that means

so if the nutrition facts says 12g carbs then under it says 10g dietary fiber then you have 2g net impact carbs

So I think I understand you, what your saying is when they talk about bad carbs they mean the ones that affect your blood sugar and turn to fat if not burned off?

well not exactly.. your right about it not affecting your blood sugar (well it does but very little) but protein will turn into fat if you have too many calories even in keto... so keep that in mind

Thanks for this,

I was just wondering about this today, the whole fiber and carbs thing...

The reason being is I was reading the bag of CHIA seads i was eating.

well put!

if it says 25g carbs but 10g fiber i would also see it as 15gcarbs.
I though he was asking if you add 10g carb 10g fiber then it = O

well put mate
