Cardio - How many times a week?

I have recently read an article regarding slow twitch and fast twitch muscles. The article was well researched and I learned alot about the different muscles. The only thing the article didn't cover was how many times a week you should do cardio. I am trying to reduce my body fat but at the same time not to risk losing any gains or "stunt" and future muscle gains.

Any input would be great.

Thanks.

I am no pro at cutting, just cutting hardcore for the first time myself.

I'm assuming you are male -

If you're goal is to keep gains, clean diet is 1st priority (very high protein) , and low intensity cardio such as walking on the treadmill couple times a week , maybe add a fat burner in the mix
It all depends though, are you on or off? what is your current bf%?

I do cardio 4 times per week. If I think about not eating food, I lose weight though, so it might vary for others, heh.

I try to do 300 Calories in 30~40 minutes 4 times a week on the eliptical or treadmill.

OK, I am a male. And right now I am off my cycle. I currently eat a very balanced diet. Very high in protein. I have just begun a EC stack. Right now I am doing cardio every other day for 30-45 minutes. I don't do it at the gym I have 15 flights of stairs I do. I go up and down them until I reach the 30-45 minutes mark. The stairs are outside so I get a lot of fresh air as well.

My main worry is that I may be doing to much and it is stunting my muscle growth. Should I do lower impact cardio?

Thanks for all your help.

It depends on what my goals are If I am cutting up then I do cardio of some sort 7 days a week at least. I am constantly, biking, hiking, running , swimming along with weight training. When I am bulking up I quit cardio almost altogether except on Sunday-when I take a power yoga class. I am bulking right now that the weather is still shitty, in a month or two I will do lots of cardio to cut.

How much do you weigh? what is your bf%?

ANy high intensity cardio puts you at risk for muscle loss esp. if you have just came off a cycle! What was your cycle anyways?

Yeah, you'll be ripped but you'll weigh less than me:p

Climbing stairs is a higher intensity form of cardio. I would find a long hill and walk up that rather than what you are doing now.

As far as my body fat I am only taking a guess but I figure somewhere around 13%+-.

I am sitting at 237, 6'3".

10 weeks 500mg test. was my cycle. I am really happy with it but now I need to do the cutting cycle. Get my body fat down to about 7-9%.

IMo - I would say clean high protein diet with low intesity cardio 3- 4 times per week (walking on incline, steady state), and the EC stack will aid in fat loss as well. Once your fat loss plateaus, you could add in HIIT if you wanted

any reason why there is no aspirin is the stack?

I would get your BF checked or buy one of those cheap plastic calipers..whichever method you use use the same throughout ur cutting phase for consisitency..Im not sure if i understand you right but you maybe fresh off a test cycle? You know you will lose some gains anyway, but if your going to cut especially without gear the best you can do is maintain LBM while dropping fat..As far as cardio maybe hit the treadmill, bike or something similar 3xwk @ 60-70% of your max heart rate for 30 mins. build slowly to 1 hour 5x week..

I asked the same question on a differnet forum and I got an answer plus a link to a good article. Here is the link

Thread

Actual Article

Thanks for the article... the real question I should have asked is why asa is used in the stack.. then I found the answer using search

here is the link in case anyone else was wondering as well:

Im a nurse, we give asa to patients day in and out who have heart issues to thin blood (to prevent stroke, heart attack, DVT.. ), the usual dose is 81 mg / d... how much is recommended in the ECA stack??

in the link above, apparently aspirin is used because it makes the heart pump faster ... my patients never have an increased pulse on 81mg / d, so is this because the dose is higher in the ECA stack or it is all three ingredients of the stack together that cause the increase in pulse?

Anyone have any ideas?:p
