I am currently 230lbs 6'1 and trying to lose body % fat then weight. So I am going to start running EOD, but I hear that doing alot of cardio burns muscle which I have a hard time beliveing but just wanted to double check and see if I was right. Also is it bad to run after a leg workout? Any advice could help me out.

Depends on the frequency, duration and intensity of the cardio. If you do too much you can definitely begin eating away at your muscle mass. This is also why most guys shy away from using running as their cardio. The intensity is too high to remain in the "fat burning zone".

Yes. Post-workout you should be taking in nutrients to help with muscle recovery, not putting your legs through another workout.

here's something..and no bs..

my friend, who is uber thick and really huge, joined the forces and was required to jog 24/7(morning)

when he came back, he's lean and no more chest.

then he said that jogging does cause one to be chestless.....this true??

I try and run for a mile or so at a good clip and then drop the speed down considerably to a light jog and I can usually keep my heart rate about 120s for the duration. I think 120s is low enough to avoid losing muscle when doing cardio for long periods of time.

Isn't it better to do higher intensity for less time than moderate intensity for long periods?

How do you guys like eliptical trainers?

I like the eliptical, keeps your heart rate right in the fat burning zone and it's easy on the knees. I alternate between the eliptical and a fast pace walk on the treadmill set on a steep incline.

go with hill training runs (arthur lydiard method), swimming and the eliptical.
you can PM me if you are interested and have any questions.
