hey bros posted a few threads about my sore wrist how i thought it was tendonitis, but finally got an MRI and the doctor told me i have a small tear in my cartilage on the outside spot of my wrist. ya, this fucking blows! anyways, i have to a see a hand specialist next week about getting it scoped to fix it. just curious if anyone has never had this injury and how long of a recovery time after the surgery? thanks!

its hard to say, but at least if you have arthroscopic (sp) surgery it will be the least traumatizing to your tissues and facilitate faster recovery. In general, damage to a muscle can be healed in weeks, while damage to ligament/tendon can take months to heal. Reason for this is there are very few capilaries in ligamentous tissue, so not much blood flow to the tissue to bring in fresh nutrients and wash out metabolic wastes. Nothing is set in stone though, some people heal faster than others.

Get the surgery asap, there is no way around healing these injuries properly. I have had my share of ripping and tearing tendon and ligament injuries, worst one for me was ripping my clavicle off at the sternal attachment. Took over 6 months to come back from that one, and i still have a little play there now, it will be with me for life.
good luck!
