Changing up a workout

When you change the exercises for your workout, say for example in one period you do squat and then the next you do box squats, what is the shortest time until you can go BACK to an exercise? Say for Westside, if you did box squats for two weeks, then good mornings for two weeks, would it be a bad thing to go back to box squats in the next two weeks? If so, how long of a period should be between the same exercises?

For me it all depends on what type of results I am getting from an exercise, for me I usually stay on a routine for about 4 weeks before I drastically change it up. Try it, depending on your recovery ability it could be the best thing. I find that bodybuilding is a constant experiment as to what works. I have friends that benefit greatly from a routine that doesn't do anything for me and vice versa. Avoiding stale workouts is usually a good idea.

Well say you did one lift for 4 weeks, then did a different one for 4 weeks. Would it be too soon to go back to the first lift for the next 4 weeks?

i dont think it really matters..wsb is fond of changing things every couple of weeks..however if your trying to bring up a weakness i dont think 2 weeks is enough time to see much difference..if your trying to get a certain depth for squats and you do box squat for 2 weeks then take a weight i dont think you will see much difference..but over a longer time horizon i think will make a world of difference
