Cheap clean food

That's about 5,000 calories from the milk I get. I weigh about 210. Bulking is about excess, right?

Yes it is, when I am bulking I drink a gallon of milk a day along with a quantity of healthy food that would be considered excessive to most people.

UM......

You dont really think that 5000kcal from milk a day is good do you? Like i said, if you were to be like 300lbs of muscle maybe, but that is too much excess. It will just make you fat. I mean at least tell me you are exaggerating.

I get 3600cals from whole milk every day, EVERY DAY, when bulking. I drink 4 cups with every one of my 6 meals. It has done wonders for my bulking, and I haven't gained any more fat than I would normally gain on a heavy bulker. I weigh 210lbs at 5'9". Frosty is bigger than I am, so I don' think 5000cals from milk is going to hurt him. Try it before you knock it. (Unless your lactose intolerant, that is.)

How is it bad? I'm not exaggerating at all.

Well you know what, I NEVER could have done it without milk. Not a chance in hell. (And I never would have thought about drinking that much milk if it hadn't been for Frosty telling me to.) So I guess I owe alot of my gains to you.......... Hopefully they keep coming as steadily as they have. I want 235 really bad. :D

Why you cuttin? Contest coming up?

because staurated fat is not a "good " fat to have running through your arteries. sure it's good for extra calories, but, at the amounts you are recommending I seriously doubt that one could use ALL the calories coming from saturated fat and therefore the rest would absolutely be stored as fat. also if you are eating cheap ground beef, let's say you buy a pound of it...wouldn't the ratio of fat and protein be heavier on the fat ? i.e....your getting more fat vs. protein, whereas in lean ground beef you'd be getting more protein.

I try not to eat the cheap ground beef. That shit has 31g fat per serving and 20g protein per serving! So the fat is 1.5x the amount of protein.

The lean ground beef has 9g fat per serving and the extra lean has 4.5g fat per serving. Both of those have 25g protein per serving.

How is saturated fat not a "good" fat? Why don't you think someone could use the calories? What makes you think the person could use all the calories if carbs were used in place? From experience, it's quite difficult to get fat eating low carb/high fat.

Frosty,
Do you eat regular or lean ground beef?

I eat "regular," but my beef comes from a local farmer that has his cows grazing and does not send them to feed lots, so the meat is much leaner than normal grocery store stuff.

I'm not saying you could't use all the calories..but if you are eating lots of cheap ground beef, then I would only theorize that it would be difficult to use that much fat as an energy source since it is 2x higher in calories than fat..I'm not arguing at all, but, I don't see the logic. carbs (good carbs) yield about 4 cals.per gram, technically you could eat alot more and still have the same amount of energy. I don't have any studies to quote..but IMO...saturated fat is the cause of most peoples build of plaque in their arteries...even if they do exercise.

Well, that's fine if it's your opinion, but saturated fat really doesn't have anything to do with plaque buildup in arteries. Neither does blood cholesterol levels.

Quick question about whole milk... If I drink a gallon a day will that add a lot of stomach fat?
I do 30mins cardio 3-4x a week (not sure if that matters or not).

If milk makes you fat it's the extra calories that does it and that's it and it will be all over the body (unless you're prone to store visceral fat). Milk is very anabolic (it's designed to put weight on animals). Some say it bloats them, and that could be a result of the sodium content, but that isn't fat gain - just subqutaneous water weight that can be shed whenever you want.

The great thing I like about milk is that it's an easy way to add extra calories AND it tastes good and you can add things to it. A post-workout meal (A bit after your shake) of two cups of milk and a banana blended up is awesome. Or add in berries for extra taste and antioxidants....there is a ton of stuff you can do with milk that makes it awesome for bulking.

If someone REALLY needs extra calories, you could try something that I discovered recently. I got some chocolate whey isolate from Protein Factory and I would put maybe 1/3 cup of it into 1-2 cups of light cream and use a hand blender to mix it up. OH MY GOD was it good! Just a thought if you need a ton of extra calories, or just a nice treat (I swear to you it tasted like some awesome dessert).
