Chosing the filters materials

Hi brothers,
I'm going to buy some filter units.
I know that most of u are using PVDF membranes. I can buy them, but the moq is 100pcs and price gonna kill me.
I was wondering about policarbon membranes, they're much cheaper. Does anybody used them ?
Are they effective ? I'm speaking about filtering larger quantities like 500ml at a time.

I hope you're not referring to syringe filters! If you're referring to bottle tops, go with Nalgene reds or Whatman Zapcaps. You'll only get about 250ml through FYI. Why do you need to filter 500ml of gear at a time? Starting a UGL? Perfect Animal Labs? I'll keep my eye open!
