Clomid-Alternative to TRT

What about the use of clomid in addition to test injections? The idea is to "naturally" stimulate the testes' own LH and FSH production instead of relying on artificial HCG.

This is exactly what my doctor had me do, Androgel 1.62 4 pumps ED, and 25mg of clomid E3D. I have been on TRT for 7 months. I do believe this is the reason my balls have not shriveled up! My TT was 400 before starting Androgel. I am trying a clomid restart to see if my own production will come back. I went on TRT in hopes of improving my libido. It has not had that effect, in fact it is actually worse.

A few years back, I did try the clomid test. Sure enough, I was able to raise my test levels up past 750 in only 3.5 weeks. My levels at the time were 350.

It does work, but there are the sides to contend with.

More and more recently studies are showing that at a dose of 25mg users are reporting positive effects. The numbers are good, and they report an improvement in overall state of well being. This is contradictory to some reports but 2 respected well controlled longer term studiers are reporting this. One out of brazil and one out of NY.
Perhaos more astounding than all of this is that a portion of the participants ceased treatment and months and months after their numbers remained elevated and the benefits continued post treatment! Like an effective restart!
I believe more and more you will see clomid become the trend. If for no other reason than a GP will be more likely to prescribe a pill than an injection but in this case there is a strong foundation to supports its use for this purpose. Am I saying it is your answer? No. Am I saying ifor many people it can work and work effectively - well it would appear that might be the case.

I think most of the side effect is from people using too high dose of clomid or relying on clomid to boost their t too much(doubling from 300 to 600 for example).

I am hoping a lower dose of clomid will boost my levels from 400-600 if I ever come off TRT. I had minor secondary hypo before TRT. Wasn't sure I really needed it. Now that I have been on for two years and feel dialed in, I feel scared to come off. If I ever do a restart, I will start a progress thread here.

They just need to frigging bring out Zuclomid... Like I have always said, Clomid is a tried, proven, true, tested T booster however the estrogenic isomer kills it.

The OP initially posted on dosing 12.5mg EOD. .
I would think thst dose is fairly well tolerated.
Even 12.5mg ED would be well tolerated.
I think the guys that get problems with clomid are the guys that use 50 mg + a day.

Its been submitted for FDA approval...
Some mention of it maybe hittibg market early 2015.
Still though it is going to be a new drug on the market and most docs wont give it out all to quickly.

I hear you and have thought it at times as well but some pretty big name guys like Scally seem to think its the agonist /antagonist effects of clomid are what makes it so effective. Especially when it some to its fertility benefits and the impact of FSH most other serms dont have. It kind of makes sense as a lot of other serms dont exhibit the agonist/antagonist effect. Isolating this isomer would be very interesting. I would like to see it tired at some point as well.

I titally forgot about this and you are 100% correct. I forget the company who is bringing it to market BUT they have quite the sketchy past with tainted studies and skewed results. In fact they are quite controversial in the pharma industry. I think I recall where I read this. I will look and see if I can find it and post. Im not saying the drug wont be effective but there is a lot of controversy about them and even the results they posted re clinicals re this drug were called into question.

Like it or not clomid has a proven longer track record than anything new about to come out on the market.

Has anybody with secondary hypogonadism ever successfully come off TRT and used low-dose clomid (12.5mg 3 times a week) as an alternative to TRT? My natural T was not particularly low (in the high 400-low 500 range). If I could get it to the 700-900 range through my own HPTA rather than rely on exogenous testosterone that would be great.

If so, I would love to hear about your experience.

Interesting Experience Here: *************

Advantages would be not having to worry about injections, fertility issues, and having to balance other ancillaries such as HCG, AIs, etc. Also, I was hoping it would restore a better balance to other hormones such as progesterone, cortisol, DHT, DHEA, etc.

This is an interesting question. I like you didn't have particularly low total test @ 400. I do know that clomid does work good for me. I'll let you know. I stopped exogenous testosterone yesterday, and started 25mg of clomid today. I think I will try 12.5 mg ED and see what happens in about 5 weeks.

If u just came off TRT and did not use HCG while on.
Your leydig cells may have atrophied some and therefore may be less receptive to the SERMS.
Its always better to run HCG to prime the boyz first before beginning SERMS. Once you know T has cleared your system...run HCG till you hit atleast 500 ng dl or higher is better then jump on clomid. ...thats how you get guys who hit 800 +ng/dl of natty T.

It takes 3-4 weeks for T to leave your system entirely. Jumping on clomid day after last T shot is all wrong in approach.

OK, I will hold off on this. Did a 50mg shot yesterday. I am seeing the doctor on Monday, and I asked if I could have Total T, E2, and prolactin checked. They said, no problem. Got to get to bottom of this, why I am just not feeling libido.

You did a 50 mg shot DAY after taking clomid ?
I thought your last Test shot was DAY before clomid?
I'm really confused here.

I thought we covered this already...
TRT with clomid is counterproductive.
HCG is what you should be on.
