Ive been seeing Coconut water all over so I decided to do a little research. A few of the things I learned.
1. It***8217;s nature***8217;s sport drink.
THE TRUTH: It***8217;s a fine postworkout chug for the average active Joe or Jane, but it falls short for hard-core athletes, because of its low sodium content that is essential for people who workout and sweat a lot.
2. It makes you look younger.
THE TRUTH: Coconut water contains cytokinins, plant hormones shown to slow the aging process in plants and fruit flies but the effects are not proven in humans yet.
3. It speeds your metabolism.
THE TRUTH: Coconut water has not been shown to assist in any weight loss trials. Coconut milk however has been shown to increase bodyfat when drank regularly, since it is about 470 cals/cup. But Coconut water contains only about 50 cals/cup.
Does anyone drink this stuff? is it worth 30$ for a 12pk?
