Collagen promoting steroids; permanence of newly synthesized tissue?

So certain compounds will promote collagen synthesis, as per the article in the sticky section (var, eq, deca, etc). However, I came across a post elsewhere that said that said collagen increases are only temporary and will diminish upon termination of the cycle. Is this true? Can someone provide evidence either for or against this assertion?

I'm considering running Anavar (var). I have a few friends that attest to the strength gains they made whilst on it, which I found attractive, seeing as how I thought these gains were accompanied by parallel increases in tendon and ligament strength.

However, if the synthesized collagen gains are only temporary, while the strength gains are more permanent, wouldn't that expose the trainee to greater possibility of injury upon discontinuation of the compound (assuming strength remains constant but tendons and ligaments get weaker)?

Curious to hear input.
