Cutting Clarification

So I will admit that diet is my weakest link. Not that I don't read tons of info, it's just that every article says something different. My question is what exactly is necessary for a cutting diet. I guess I'm looking for a formula or ratio of macros to body weight. The big thing I'm confused on is carbs while cutting. When to eat them, when not to, how much? Fats as well. I'm assuming i should keep my protein high. Thanks in advance.
