ok i want to go on a cutting diet cuz i've acheived some size over the winter and now i'm ready to cut cuz i'm tired of looking smooth.... i am confused on what diet to do. and before you say anything about do your reasearch, i have, but i'm still confused on what will work best for me and how much carbs i should take in, i know what i should eat, its just the numbers that get me.. i was thinking about carb cycling.. but someone else just said to do your body weight in carbs... HELP!

also what should i eat before and after i workout?? this is what i plan on eating.. just critique and give advice i'm trying to maintain muscle and lose body fat... thanks

9am meal 1- 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 yolk 4 egg whites
11am preworkout- whey protein shake with low carbs
12- workout
1:15 postworkout- orange juice, whey protein shake
3pm meal 2- chicken breast/ brown rice
5pm meal 3- tuna/ veggies
7pm meal 4- lean ground beef
9pm meal 5- casein protein

If your going to carb cycle:

Day 1: 50% of kcals from Carbs - 40% kcals from Protein
Day 2: 40% of kcals from Carbs - 50% kcals from Protein
Day 3: 30% of kcals from carbs - 60% kcals from Protein

I'm not going to guess your kcals you need as i don't know enough about you but lets assume something like 2,400 kcals

Day 1: 300g Carbs - 240g Protein - Minimal Fat
Day 2: 240g Carbs - 300g Protein - Minimal Fat
Day 3: 180g Carbs - 360g Protein - Minimal Fat

As for your diet it obviouly doesn't fit the outline above but if you decide to go with yours then get rid of the orannge juice and use another carb source.

7 meals? it may work for you, but for me, it was overdoing it. No real reason to eat so many time. I mean, why not 10 even smaller meals? IMO the only reason for anyone to eat 7 meals would be because theyre 315 pounds and cant physically fit 10,000 calories into 5-6 meals.

5 meals works much better for me, and is so much easier on the schedule. Im losing BF, im generally somewhat "full" feeling most of the day (not really hungry much, except around beditme and when i wake up), and my weights havent suffered too much (they actually increased for about 2.5-3 months while dropping bf).

Just my opinion though, i know the reasoning behind so many smaller meals, but i havent seen any difference between 5 and 7 in my personal experience, except it was a bitch cooking 7 times a day.

I hear ya on the being confused with what works best. I look at the diets that get posted that people do but in the replies to these diets the repliers critisize the diets but dont usualy help by posting a diet that they think will work. They just say refer to the how to cut sticky. The sticky gives you info like lean protein/ carbs and so on at times of the day, then you post a diet with the help of the sticky but then the replies say you dont have enough fat in the diet and this and that. It may be easy for those who know how to diet and have been dieting for some time but to those of us that are new to the dieting thing its real hard to get it down.

Im not critisizing the people repling to the post, all im saying is it is harder then it is made out to be for those of us who are new to the dieting thing.

Anyway thank you all for trying to help us novice dieters out there. Ill keep on reading and trying to figure it out.
