Yeah, bro. You don't need gear. If you're eating 2500 cals when you need 3500 then your body is probably hanging on to as much as it can and you'll actually gain fat. You only need a slight deficit that way you're still healthy and burn fat. You drop it too much and you're prone to injury and your body will keep every little bit, because it is in a constant state of starvation and wants to make sure it has some kind of fuel so it adds fat.
