Nope. Deads on back day, squats on leg day. Both of them are whole body exercises and are very taxing on the body. Would be too much to do them both on the same day imo.
the thing is that i do squats on monday and then deads on thursday (72 hrs later), but my ass is slightly sore from the squats. i dont mind it, i just dont want to overtrain glutes. might i be?
It all depends when I do dead or squats it is far too taxing for me to do both. Try deads on Monday and squats on thursday every once in a while switching things up a bit may be the best thing.
I would never mix the two, I have trouble seeing straight after either one and doing the next after would kill me, now I do alot of sets of both on the specific days.
I do both together with some routines. The only thing I would say is that you should do the squats before deadlifts. That works better for me, anyway. Also, I prefer to take a decent rest between them.
On my dynamic effort leg day I might do squats and deads on the same day. If its a max effort leg day and I want to do deads I'll usually just do rack pulls 6-8 reps. I try to mix it up.
well, i just found out that i CAN NOT do deads and squats on the same day. i did squats first and had no energy going into deads. i'm going to opt for a mon-deads & thur-squats and then switch after a while. thanx buy owner
