deads are a spectacular compound exercise to develop the lower body and core muscles. as the others said, proper form is a must!

Not at all. As a beginner just make sure you let go of the bar and reset every time. the first rep is usually the one with the best form, if you dont let go your hips will come up just enough to turn it into a RDL. which is when most injuries happen

head up, rotate your hips back, keep yoour shins as as straight as possible, when reaching for the bar flex your tri's, grab the bar an push your hips forward and repeat
