deads

just started doing deads this year and i rep 365 (dont laugh its not funny)... ive never maxed out but after doing a few sets of 8 my knees feel like theyre gonna blow out.

for some reason they give me a headache too.

this is one of those threads where its easy to a throw a number out there thats in the high 400s or 500s to make everyone else think your the man.

i doubt there will be many honest answers.

wasnt looking honest answers just trying to get some guys pulling and thinking.

yeah becca hit a 502 bench. heres the numbers from the meet.

761 squat - 502 (227.5kilos) bench - 650dead

165 is the next class down IM.

Huh? A high 400 dead is PATHETIC, unless you are half my weight or something.

I use 365-405 for my SLDL work which is weaker than my dead, and thats for my working sets with no straps or chalk, slow reps no bouncing, and I know a 20 year old 30 pounds under me (and 4 inches shorter) who will throw 100 pounds on that and rep it out. He also has not touched illegal juice, just M1T. So by many standards I'm weak as shit and I can dead into the 500s.

Now if I start hearing 700s, or 600s by young or little guys, then I'd be suspicious.

400+ for a bench is one thing, for a deadlift its nothing.

I get up to 475 for my reps on regular deads, and like I said, my dead sucks ass. I could probably pull a mid 5 off the floor on a good day.

yeah its all about perspective.. to me anything under 600 isn't really impressive but to most PL'ers 600 aint shit.

most people could pull a LOT more than they presently do but they dont give the DL any attention, it's all about the bench.

the kind of people who lie on messageboards are the ones posting on the arm measurements threads, you wont find many people who deadlift seriously BSing like the 18 year old 'bodybuilders' do.

very impressive lifts......the record squatters a big ol bear! :)

my player cant play the avi files...is there a program i need to download?
a friend of mine is heavy into deads, i think hes pulled as much as 600, at 245 lbs. very tough lift for me standing at 6'3", but on occasion i do venture into the pulling world, and i cant remember workouts that have taxed me as much as those. :)

if full pulls tax you too much try racks. i posted clips some where. i know they ion the video section.

my long legs cant dead shit! but i did get a kick out of the guy sprinting back and forth after the lift :)

You're 6'5" right? I'm 6'2" and still find it a problem.

im only 6'3", but my legs are proportionally long......really hard to get the bar past the knees with the back straight....but i will give rack pulls a try.....i know deads add amazing thickness, ill definetely incorporate racks in my routine.

be cool

Its the interweb man, I see a lot of 15 year old kids posting 7 times in various threads that have nothing to do with maxes, touting about their 405 bench and yada yada and "is it good for my age?" Riiiiiight. If I were 15 and benching a legit 405 I would have been a GOD.

I'm missing erector thickness and overall I want my back thicker, so likewise I am forcing myself to do real deads after quitting them several times (lazy I guess). I have been doing SLDL for some time now but its not the same, I also do hypers which really hit my lower back good.

I remember your back from a couple years ago on Anabolic-Paradise, and it was not lacking much of anything bro.

you know how it is brother.....your always your worst critic, im definetely larger than the average man, but in my eyes, and in my "social infrastructure", average has a different meaning. :)
