decrease the weight after first set?

I read on another site that the best way to get the most out of an anabolic workout is to START with the highest weight you can do and decrease the weight from there for the remaining sets. However, i was always told the opposite, and to increase weight and you decrease sets.

my opinion in training is if you want to gain you have to beat whatever you done lasst week if it'll be with more reps then last week or a heavier weight so l guess if the weight you starting on is heavier then last week will work but your probably more prone to injury..?

still unclear wheter to start heavy and decrease with sets
or
start light and increase with the sets

I'll usually go light-heavy. If you go heavy-light you significantly increase your chance of injury IMO. Progressively increasing the poundage allows your muscles, tendons, and ligaments the proper adjustment period.

Of course if I'm incorporating drop sets or giant sets, which I do from time to time, things change.

i always go light heavy from time to time i change things up to shock my muscles go to the training threads there are alot of differ workout styles the 5x5 is pretty popular and a pretty basic routine.in order to get bigger you have to increase your weight.
