Deploying. Please help.

Hey guys,

I'be been looking through these forums for a while, and everything I've seen has been great. I got done with my first cycle a couple of months ago, and I was looking to start another soon. The only problem is that I'm deploying and don't know how to get gear in Afghanistan. I saw on a thread a while back that there was someone who had information on how to do this, but I forget who it was. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Both deployments I've done they never checked my bags going OUT of country so there really shouldn't be a problem leaving the states with it. I haven't done any juice on/off a Deployment and don't know what branch you are but unless your unit actually inspects all your shit on the way there or when you arrive I think you'll be fine just bring your gear with you. Conceal it some incase of some random situation pops up where they may see inside of your packs.

Mail it to yourself. I would look into getting a script so that if something came up, you have that to fall back on.

are you leaving from base? put it in your cargo pocket or tape it to your leg/nuts. put vials in your hygiene kit with swabs and if they see those say you inject b12 for nutrition since the food blows asshole. ive been to afghan twice and brought gear my 2nd time. i got lucky and went on a cargo plane with a bunch of buddies so i was set. dont try sending pins via usps theyll never make it.

My bags were never searched leaving America. Customs always checks them coming back. Unless you get chosen for the lucky 10% random search youll be fine. and even then theyre lazy ass airforce.

why would they? they only care when you come back... then they're anal about it
at most they check your gear as in your issued gear and make sure you got what you need. anything you bring after that is on you. thats how it was for me both times.

I appreciate all of the input, guys. The thing is that everything is going to be searched. Thoroughly. I need to know where to go and what to do to have the stuff shipped to me while I'm oout there. Keep in mind that I also have to order it out there.

Bro your stressing way to much all you have to do is order your gear through your usual source send it to a buddy have them pack it in with a bunch of food or goodies and ship it out. As long as your command doesn't plan on checking EVERY package that comes in your fine. Do you know what base you are going to?

I guess I'll just have to get a friend of mine to take care of it for me. I'll wire him money or something. I'm not worried about packages being checked, they didn't do it last time. I'm going to a FOB, so it's not a necessarily established base.

I was fucking with you about the hold CID thing and I know its a "FOB" but it's technically a base ..hence the name Forward Operating Base....anyways what Fob are you going to?

Also depending on your source (if they take western union) you can just send them the money and order direct and just ship it to your buddies house and have him send it (less hassle for him/her)
