Anyone know where to get DE 20 online? This is a low GI version of dextrose (20).

O, but still.. why?
Only time i se dextrose being good is pre/post workout and times close post workout.

That is because regular dextrose is high GI, obviously 20 points is very low yet very easy to add calories to my shakes.

Ok....what am I missing here.

Dextrose is Dextrose is Dextrose........how can the GI be different ?
Do they add something to it, making it Dextrose + ??

got my dextrose off ebay, 5lbs for 8 dollars shipped.

how much do i add to my creatine each day?

I use oatmeal ground up in a coffee grinder in my shakes. low GI carbs plus fiber. way better choice than sugar.

Keep dextrose for PWO.

I've had oats in my shakes before also, which is fine if you want to choke it down. The more you process it, the more you shift the GI, same with cooking time. The softer you make a food the higher the GI will become.

so youre saying that chopping oats and putting them in water ups the GI? Im not saying that your wrong, ive just never heard of that before :scratchhe
If anything it "should" lower the Gi since your mixing it with protein, or flax, or whatever else is in the shake.

Cooking time and soaking anything in water (by time) also changes GI because that is pre-digesting the food by BREAKING IT DOWN - or - in the case of soaking it/cooking it, making it easier for your digestive system to break it down quicker.

Pull up your favorite GI index and take a look at aldenti cooked linguini for instance versus standard cook times.

When you mix foods the GI averages out. This is why we try to get fiber in every single meal, to lower the GI of the whole meal.

I consider myself a very intelligent guy when it comes to diet - And i have never heard of Dextrose 20!!

Like StoneCold says - Your talking about the chemical structure here.

Do you have a link for this product??

If your looking for a lower GI carb then Maltodextrin or Dextrose for MRP shakes, Rice Oligodextrin would be a suitable liquid carbohydrate. (Thanks Trop)

Get back to me on that link though or article - please

No I have found no information on the net about it. L. Rea had it in one of his books, I forget who he said made it if he did but I wasn't able to find anything on it.

I would have to assume it was labratory made to give it that characteristic.

What I was looking for is something very low GI that could add easily calories through the day, something with a GI of 70+ wont cut it. I eat a damn lot of sweet potato, and sometimes some red potatos, very occasional aldenti pasta early in the day, oats in the am - just looking for freebies.
