dextrose hype!

What is your question on this??? It is a carbohydrate and is processed just like any other carbohydrate: The only difference is it is a simple carb with a high GI. The only "good" time is in your pw meal and maybe a little in your morning meal since blood glucose is low.

As far as working with bodytypes: It really makes no difference what type of body you have. If your someone with a high bodyfat you might consider keeping your simple sugars to a minimum.

Dextrose:Protein in a 2:1 relationship is essential post workout. Try it out man dextrose helps jack the protein in to your muscles fast. You also need to eat a "high protein with a serving of carbs meal" 1 hour after your shake and workout. The idea of the dextrose is to feed your muscles quick to keep them from going catabolic, and mabe even promote growth. Peace.

I usually try to keep blood away from my stomach pre and during workout ...I personally would not drink my dextrose+protein shake during workout. It would'nt kill you though, I mean most football players drink gatoraid during games...

rumblefukaz has a valid point about blood going to ur stomach
well it's a digestion thing
if u ingest calories blood will go to ur stomach in order to digest your food, when you're training u want the blood flow in the muscles
the reason that athletes like footballers etc take a sports drink though is to top up their glycogen and energy levels because their training usually causes that.
Most effective weight training does not have as bad an effect
it's your shout

thanks muay thai guy.

interesting idea, i mean about the blood, i never thought of that, it's a good point. however, i find that sipping on gatorade does keep my energy levels up during training. i tend to feel like i could train longer and harder, what about that?

although, i do take a glucose-protein post-wo recovery drink (biotest surge) in the 2:1 ratio immediately afterwards. i wonder if the gatorade plus suge is too much sugar. huh.

i hit each muscle group once per week for 50-60 mins. right now i am bulking, so i tend to go heavy and fewer reps at the start but also include supersets and giantsets occasionally. my training is intense but could always be more intense. i feel that if i am sore the next few days, i have done a good w.o.

gatorade has 14g sugar, mostly succrose i think. biotest surge has 50g glucose and multidextrin.
