dextrose PWO

Is it an absolute necessity to have a dex/protein shake PWO? I understand it creates an insulin spike which can be beneficial, but it really fills me up and messes up my next meal, because i can not eat as much. I feel much better coming home after the gym and eating some solid food.

From what I've read any kind of carbs are good. Low or high GI. This is what Dirk told me in another thread. Weather I ahve a banana/watermelon pwo or some oatmeal and bread, I still feel the same. So I don't think it's really neccessary to spike your insulin pwo

No, I think the phenomena is rather overrated. I'm not saying that it doesn't work or that it may not be "ideal", but there are numerous other factors that come into play when considering muscle growth before the question of whether or not you use dextrose post-workout does. Do whatever you feel works best for you and alter it if your results are not what you are hoping for.

I do believe that high GI carbs + fast protein is great post workout nutrition but I agree with Aboot. If you're forcing it and dreading it, it probably isn't the best way for you.

Aboot i couldnt agree with you more. So many ppl worry and stress about what they have PWO and think that if they dont follow this set formula religiously they will not achieve what they set out to...when in essense its the remaining 23hrs of they day that they are servely f*cking up
