DHEA is super low - What's with this?

Not Novice, But Not Pro
Anybody else have super low DHEA? Anybody know symptoms from low DHEA? Is this genetics or from some other hormone or vitamin imbalance? Any help is appreciated. BTW E2, Prolatin, TSH numbers are in line.

DHEA is 1.17 umol/L range is 2.17 - 15.2 umol/L

It happens on trt. Some backfill hormonal pathways with dhea/preg cream. Is hcg part of your protocol (curious).

No HCG is not, but I'm going to ask Doctor next time I see him. I'm on a little dose of Progesterone Cream, but if this is what you refer to, I guess it's not backfilling.

BTW, Mr. Jimi Hendrix was the best ever.

I was below range without TRT.

Apollon..., You have to be the unluckiest man I ever met. lol :-)

Seeing what you have gone through, makes me feel happy just to be alive. lol
I sincerely hope you get your TRT stuff fixed up someday.

I've seen DHEA come back over normal range at 12 umol/l while on HCG mono. This lab had a range of 2.6-7.7 umol/l.
Then when HCG mono stopped raising my natty t above my bodys limits it would come at 6.9 umol/l, so thats low as per a different lab that has a range of 7.6-17.4 umol/l.
On TRT 10 months into it it would come in "low" at 7.4 umol/l. Different range though on this lab.
I've never gotten a clear answer as to what DHEA does for males.

I've had 7.4 umol/l on TRT and 10 months into my protocol with no hcg or supplements.
Thats real low man.

whats that suppose to mean?

I'm trying to be nice, dude. :-) I mean you have had an incredibly hard time of it with your doctors, etc. I am not in any way being a smartass, just being friendly. (note the smiley face)

Definitely get on HCG, it will backfill a few pathways and should keep your DHEA in check.

I didn't realize this thread was going to get into HCG, so I started a new thread after my doctor told me to start dhea supplementation and did not know what dose to use for HCG. he wants me to try dhea for a few months and then something else, possibly hcg. I guess he is in over his head on hcg for trt men

Those docs are GP's. They went to Med school 40 years ago when TRT was evil.
They make their $$$ by getting patients hooked on psychotropic meds to mask underlying causes.
They are serving the socialized medical system not me.
I don't have the time of day for that type of scum.

If your going t use dhea to backfill you should use micronized dhea if taking orally or a transdermal cream. Also many take it with prenenolone as well. Same criteria for that micronized or trans cream. Many say it improves their sense of well being etc.

I can attest to this. I've done both the individual hormone supplement route and HCG. HCG wins hands down in my book. I'd toss up some numbers, but don't have them on my phone. :(

I've used micronized dhea many years ago for a while. Felt like my libido lifted.
Probably raised more Estro than Test. I was dealing with high liver values at the time and dumped it as my feedback on it from various sources told me dont bother with it.
Who knows...maybe its good stuff?
Would it raise Natty T if one was natty ?

This is probably a stupid question, but, what do you mean by "individual hormone supplement route"? Do you mean HCG is way better than DHEA, Prenenolone, etc?

From what I've read DHEA is like the fountain of youth. It effects everything in a positive way. Its astounding. Here's just one article on it; http://www.lef.org/protocols/*********_health/dhea_restoration_01.htm

The only thing, it does not promise is a longer dick!!

The system takes out words that have m.e.t.a.b.o.l.i.c. in it , so just google : DHEA Life Extension Magazine

Yes, I was supplementing with both DHEA and pregnenolone as well as a few precursors as I still felt something lacked. I did notice an increase in DHEA on labs (preg wasn't available), so I felt that the two were definitely related.

HCG takes care of all those (the body requires an lh signal for release of some hormones like testosterone) as it is an analog for LH. Blood serum levels were also 65% higher with the HCG for far less money. Micronized stuff is not cheap by any means. ;)

Get a better phone then. Lol
You're silly. Everyone knows phone storage is for MP3 files and dirty pictures, not lab results. :wiggle:
