I will ask about HCG.
Back to the original question, you are not going to feel the effects of an injection one hour afterwards or 4 days afterward. Especially when you already had normal TT levels from the andeogel. In fact, your androgel is going to wear off pretty quickly while it is going to take a good 6 weeks for the test cyp to build up in your body. You are going to experience a temporary drop in your TT if you quit androgel cold turkey and replace it with injections. It would probably be better to taper off the androgel. I would discuss that with your doctor.
And as others have said, you need to get squared away on your E2 and HCG/Clomid usage. I think you really need to reassess whether or not your doc is giving you good medical care.
Meg, I just found out that my androgel script was approved again. I was able to get my TT up above 1000 ng/dl with 4 pumps of 1.62 a day. One thing I like about the androgel is, my boys didn't shut down. I have only done 1 injection so far, do you think I should just start the androgel again?? I can get it today. I don't want to crash. Also, I have been on TRT for about 8 months now, and I think that I have always done more arimidex than what is needed. My doctor had me doing .5mg EOD when I first started, but from what Snow said, this seems like way too much. No wonder I haven't really felt my libido go up!
If you want to switch to injections I stand by what I said about tapering off the androgel while the test cyp kicks in.
Gel and injections will shut down your testicles both the same. They shut down because your pituitary is no longer sending them and LH signal. That is why guys often use HCG when on TRT.
Haven't you checked your E2 over the last 8 months?
Yes, maybe 4/5 months ago. It was 15. But I had been doing clomid 2 times a week. An administrator on the Hypogonadism forum says that you can't get an accurate read of E2 while taking clomid. So I don't know how accurate that reading was.
I have never heard that about not being able to get an accurate E2 measure while on Clomid. How would that affect the lab test?
Based on the 15 though, your E2 was too low.
Could this cause erection problems?
Low estradiol? Absolutely. High estradiol can cause erection problems as well. As can things like blood pressure and so on. ED issues can be pretty complicated. But first course of action for a TRT patient would be to get estradiol in the sweet spot.
