Diego Maradona is the greatest soccer player Ever

What happened on this play that was so significant? Please tell me, i am a newb to soccer.

Well bob it was the World cup in 1986 in Mexico and we that is England were playing against Argentina in the Quarter final. The ball was played through and it bounced up in front of our keeper. Maradona jumped up at the same time as our keeper and he was about a foot short of the ball so our keeper was favorite to punch clear. This is when Maradona used his hand to tip the ball towards goal but it was well disguised and from a distance it looked legal. Our players surrounded the referee but he gave the goal. Later when interviewed about the handball, Maradona would not admit it but would only say it was the hand of God. Now it is one of the most recognised phrases and moments in football. However the second goal he scored in the same game has been widely accepted as the best goal ever scored in history and we were out of the finals.
The second goal which killed us of is below. It is magic. Check it out Bob.

Wow. Maradona was fast as hell. I'm tellin ya though, I've seen Ronaldo make better goals. Maybe they weren't scored in such pressure situtations, but they were still unbelievable. Ronaldo is my personal hero. Maradona was simply before my time.

Maradona was devastated after losing the 1990 World Cup final to Germany.

In USA 1994 before testing positive for and being banned for using Ephedrine.

You guys are forgetting Totti and Baggio.

Totti is the man now.
Baggio used to be the man, it's sad that he's only remembered for putting the ball way over the net.

What about Vieri, if you're looking for a scoring machine, you want Vieri

Out of the three players you mention Dbolme, Roberto Baggio would make my all time greats list but for me the king is the little Argentinian (not so little these days).

There are to many to mention. What about Eric Cantona?

Single handly help Leeds the the League then was sold to Man U for next to nothing. I heard the reason why he left was because he was shagging Leslie Ash behind Lee Chapman's back.

Cantona was a great player no doubt.

talking bout brazilian players only, there was one that was better than pele and his name was Garrincha....noone else ever could do same tricks as him. His dribbling skills were the best ever seen.
Keep forgetting Marco van Basten-my favourite one. Been a huge fan of him since 1988 an the famous goal against Ussr-magnificent stuff.
Three Golden Balls of FF say for themselves.

MARADONA the best soccer player ,i saw him playing in Boca Juniors, it was like magic , believe me !!!
