Diet update and a question.

Update first.

Started at 301 lbs, ~22-23% bf. Currently into the 5th week, 295 lbs at ~20%. I was panicked for awhile that the scale wasn't changing much, but I also knew I'd be adding some muscle mass back on after a very long football season. I estimate about 7-8 lbs of fat lost and 3-4 lbs of muscle gained at this point. I'm back up to my "typical" muscle mass, so I expect to see a more significant loss in actual pounds over the next few weeks. For the first time in years, my torso looks longer than it does wide, and every time I look in the mirror (it seems), I see some strange new line or shape that wasn't there before. Still have a long long way to go, though. For the record, I'm going 20 weeks with the goal of hitting 255 at 8%. Insanely aggressive? Maybe. But I think I can do it, and if I don't, I'll be close enough to be pleased. "Ad astra per aspera," as they say.

Question is about nutrient timing in the a.m. Every weekday I do my cardio on an empty stomach from 5:00-5:45 am. Should I be in a rush to get nutrients in asap, or should I let the effects of the cardio "stew" for awhile?

i'm at 45 minutes, 5 times a week. been doing mostly the elliptical, but switching to the stair mill next week. i've been keeping my heart rate around 140.
