ok i have read a lot of people's diet plans on this forum and i wanted to know how people eat their eggs. is everyone eating them raw? i see where people eat 10-12 eggs or egg whites for breakfast...is that raw or are you guys cooking them. if it is raw, isn't there a danger of getting some kind of food poisoning from them????

I wouldn't eat them raw - And cooking them actually increases the egg bioavailability

Personally though i buy Eggology Egg whites and drink them raw. They however are pastureized

If I'm in a hurry I'll just gulp a few down, but yeah you do run the risk of food poisoning. But I saw Rocky do it so it must be okay.

No, because I'm not too keen on getting Salmonella poisoning..........

Pasteurized is different though.......

Cooking them is better for you nutritionally as well as cooking them makes them more bio-available... so you can take better advantage of the protein....

I put 6 raw egg whites and two whole eggs in my morning shake for a couple of yrs. Odds are you wont get salmonela, but who is to say if I kept doing that for the next couple of yrs. it wouldn't happen. I heard that it's also a bogus whey of getting the protein. I could find the article that described the scientifics why it's a bad source of protein it's on a BBing site beyond mass. Now a days I dont drink shakes for breakfast I eat a solid meal. I boil 8 eggs the nite before then just stick em in the fridge and I microwave a bowl of oatmeal. It's the ticket to the 2 minute breakfast thats good for you.

I will put raw eggs in a shake, but I really like them cooked so I do not see the point in torturing myself by downing a large glass of snot.

ditto

when im in a rush i put some whites in my whey with water and chug.... allso go buy the whites in the carton and just drink them ...they dont tast that bad

If you take steroids and arent afraid of side effects, I dont see reason why you are afraid of eating raw eggs. I eat them raw all the time and nothing happened. Possibility of getting salmonela is about 0,000001%. I dont know what are you afraid of.

I believe the primary nutrient one tries to get out of eggs are protein. It is a misconception that eggs cooked will make the protein more "bio available" whatever that means. Some of the more constructive fats do in fact become more accesible for usage when cooked, but there is enough good fats in a raw egg to do the same anyhow. The protein in eggs however is very unique, and as the link above says "very delicate" in structure. These are essentially building blocks for an animal about to form...

I eat raw eggs alot and have been for a few years w/no ill effects. Actually, the chances of getting samonila poisoning from a raw egg is about 0.0003% I believe thats from Dr. Allen Sears. Read in some health mag.

why would you eat them raw and force it down?when you can just put um in a pan cook um up with some peppers and onion and eat something that taste great!peppers and onions add nothing bad and use some pam the lonest part of the process is seperating the yolk from the whites, and what is that really.

I will tell you why. Some bodybuilders eat 30 eggs/day. If you eat 30 eggs/day (cooked), (and the rest of food like meat, milk, fish, etc....), I will admire you. But when you eat it raw, you can eat that amount. Its much easier to drink 10 raw egg whites than cooked. And you won´t lose any gram of protein. Cooking will do that.
