Yea my parents recently got divorced back in Jan.
Their problem was simple, they focused too much on their own wants...my dad would see what my mom wanted or wanted to do as pointless or dumb, but it rly shouldn't matter unless it's unethical or financially too much to accomplish.

Sorry to hear that man. I've seen a bunch of divorces and some very ugly ones. Thankfully my parents are still together but like you said, it goes both ways with fulfilling needs and wants.

my parents are going through a mess right now too.. after 32 years of marriage..

my dad is a stubborn mule.. he was a provider.. he worked his ass off.. he went from making 40 dollars a day cash under the table to running his own business (which failed at the recession).. we all had to chip on and work to make the mortgage at the home.. my brother and i were putting everything we had into it.. my mom got a job..

i guess her life feels unfulfilled.. my dad doesn't like to travel.. my mom has wanted to travel the world..

they are not on speaking terms.. he sleeps upstairs she sleeps downstairs in the other bedroom..

its a mind fuck.. one of the sanctuaries i had in my mind was the relationship my parents had... u know.. the sanctity of marriage.. that got blown away right after i got married.. life is weird

I find the harder I try to find a gf, the harder it is to find one. When I sit back and just worry about my life, having fun, taking care of my responsibilities, etc i find that girls pick up on this energy more so and are more likely to see me in a different light. My parents were never married. They split up when I was about 3. My dad was married once about 10 years ago, and that was absolute HELL. Especially when they got divorced. I'm glad it wasn't my actual mom though. I couldn't imagine having my parents together my whole life and then getting divorced. One of my friends parents just got divorced. He's 23 I think... it's been super hard on him.

Way back in the day there may have been a logical reason to do so but nobody has ever been able to give me a convincing argument why anyone should get married today. It's a massive expense that bears no fruit. Unwed couples can do all the same things that married couples do with the exception of filing joint taxes.

I have no faith in the belief that humans are meant to stay together forever.
The statistics simply don't support that. If (more likely, when) we decide enough is enough, I don't want things to get complicated with unnecessary paperwork. It would be nice to amicably just say, "all's good, see you around" and move on.

People change and often times over the course of years they change into something the other party finds undesirable and they grow apart. Why spend your entire life fighting desperately to hold onto what can never be? 3J, I'm 100% with you that you have to be able to manage the give and take. Looks like the new iPhones are rolling out this month. THere's gonna be a 5s and 5c. The 5c looks like it's a little more basic, less memory, and comes in different colors (hence the "c"). 5s comes in black, white, and gold... looks like it's got some cool new features. A7 chip which is 64-bit, a new rear camera, front camera is HD now, and a fingerprint scan to unlock the phone, make purchases, etc. Looks like they've updated some of the apps too which is nice. A lot of the updates are things I had jailbreaks for. Like controlling the ipod without going to the actual ipod app. Hopefully you can control it from the lock screen too. I use the shit out of that tweak.

Pick a plus of Apple and I can tell you how it's a clever spin by marketing. Lack of viruses? Simple. There are simply less Apple devices on the market, and hackers want to have the biggest impact possible, therefore they choose windows based devices for their targets. Less crashes? Simple. Apple has a restricted parts selection available and the software designed to run on that platform is designed to operate specifically on that hardware. Windows machines come in every imaginable configuration possible, so there will be hiccups with software as it cannot be designed with a specific hardware configuration aside form minimum specs.

So why exactly is Apple able to bankrupt cellular carriers and charge a premium for devices that are honestly considered mid-range for their given specs?

They have one brilliant marketing and patent team.

Oh, and I haven't had a crash on my PC in 3 years - and it's overclocked to 5gHz 24/7.
