Does trt cause high blood pressure?

Hi everyone I've been on test cypionate 200mg once a week for about 6 months now and the last month I dropped the dose down to 100mg a week. I always had a higher blood pressure reading around the 136/80 range but since I started the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) it has risen a lot. My doc put me on bystolic which is a beta blocker and I still have higher readings of 160/90 and fluctuates even at higher readings. I never can get lower than the 135/90 range even with the blood pressure meds. Do you guys think that the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is the cause of my high blood pressure and has it been known to cause high blood pressure? I am in good health, 38 yrs old and diet is not too bad. Bloodwork didn't show anything causing the higher readings. I wonder if anyone else had higher blood pressure since starting try? Thanks as any thoughts would be great.

What is your hematocrit? If that has been increasing it could increase your blood pressure. Testosterone is know to increase blood thickness (hematocrit) which is why lots of guys taking test donate blood frequently.

I'll check my hematocrit

How often do you recommend donating blood and what is a good level to be on. Also how much does having a higher hematocrit level raise blood pressure?

Donate as frequently as they will allow you to. It is good for you and good for society.

What's your hematocrit at? Look at your last CBC. It is hard to quantify the impact it will have on your BP. But if it gets too high you could have a stroke. You want it to remain in the normal range.

Oh geez. Don't say testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) could cause a stroke. I know you didn't say that specifically, but it certainly can be construed that way. I have yet to find any study that says increases to hematocrit due to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can lead to a stroke. I'm not trying to bust your balls, I just believe we need to be as truthful here as possible. No need to scare the shit out of people.

I am definitely not saying that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) causes strokes.

I am saying that unmanaged high blood pressure and/or unmanaged high hematocrit could cause a stroke or other health issues over time.

I'm gonna check my lab work when I get home from work and I will post the hematocrit level. I'll donate blood tomorrow for sure and hopefully that will lower my blood pressure.

Stupid question but do you lose some of the testosterone levels in your system when you get donate the blood? If so, should I donate prior to my injection?
