donating blood on steriods

For alot of different reasons some of which include alleviating high RBC count and high BP. Its all about maintaining normal levels within your body and donating blood is one of the best proactive things you can do while on cycle in my opinion.

I agree with Kaz. This is exactly why I donate.

Going this weekend myself to do a double red.

Went the first time a few weeks ago. Almost lost my chance cause my hemoglobin was slightly higher than the maximum allowed of 18.4.... Iwas at 18.9. They allowed it but only after a call to the director. So dont wait, go asap.

Next time Im doing dbl red too. Only thing is they said you have to wait longer in between dbl red donations (was it 4 months???).

And how exactly am I ment to know when to go,
do u do it while durin cycle
is it necessary?

Did you start your cycle yet?? If not go down to donate first. They prick your finger to test your iron. You can get your baseline and then you just go back every 2 months to donate. The next time you go they will prick your finger again and you can see how the number has changed.
Just go every 2 months.

You should get labs before you cycle, or if you didnt go get them now. That will show you where your numbers are.

What should one do of your hemoglobin or hemocrit is to high. I know you can get it prescribed but then wouldn't that let the doc know something is up?

Just because your hemocrit and hemoglobin are slightly high that will not throw up a red flag. Now if they are extremely high lets say your hemocrit is 52% and your hemoglobin is at 20+% then they will start to ask questions and thats some places. I donated one time with a hemocrit of 49% and a hemoglobin of 19%. Thats 1% higher than the high normal on both and there where no questions asked.

Yeah thats right. In fact they asked me if I work out & how often and what my diet was like .... I told them I ate very healthy lots of broccoli & brussle sprouts and they said ok. They had to call the director because that is their protocol. I played it stupid and asked if I have anything toworry about and they said no. Everyone is different and that we all have a different normal.

But if it is too high they will turn you away.

Right now im crusing
I went for multiple standard blood test to make sure im okay durin and off cycle and ive asked multiple times for test levels but they denied cause im still young
