Dry rice or cooked rice?

Just wondering, when bodybuilders say they eat 2 cups of rice for dinner, is that 2 cups of cooked rice or 2 cups of dry rice cooked?
 
Cooked. Two cups dry is a TON of rice to eat in one sitting, and I can put some serious food down lol.
 
Yeah, I was reconsidering, this idea of lifting weights haha.

If the bloat and laziness of an insulin spike don't get ya, the gas that is inevitable sure will! I feel bad for people that walk by on my gassy days as the sheer amount of protein I consume makes for some serious stink bombs!
 
yup, its measured cooked. I usually cook 2 cups of dry rice and it last me about 2-3 days. 2cups dry equals to about 6+ cooked.
 
What? It's always the dry weight IMO, as with everything. I cook 500-600g every morning and that's 3 cups of dry white rice.

Rice expands when it's cooked so the volume changes. On the back of the bag, macros and micros are designated for dry weight/volume but typically in bodybuilding when you see "1 cup rice" it means 1 cup AFTER its been cooked so you track macros with the dry weight/volume. A little confusing at first but if you're keeping track and meeting your macro totals with measuring it dry, keep at it.
 
Its for cooked rice, 2 cups of dry rice would be close to 300g of carbs, but you should weigh your rice dry to know exactly how much carbs you're getting, measuring with cups is inaccurate, food scale completely changed the way i l ook at food and how much im eating its insane, for example 1 full scoop of ON gold standard protein comes out to 23g but on the tub it stated 30g for each scoop as you can see you're actually getting like 19g protein instead of 24 with 1 full scoop so a food scale is a smart choice if you want to count macros, cups are useless in measuring macros, might as well just eye ball it.
 
i eat 8-10oz of rice (measured dry) with 2 meals each day. usually white instant rice. And for the GASSY CHAPS in here, ever use probiotics? seems to help for me.

Yeah, I take a probiotic daily and it doesn't seem to help at all. I'm sure drinking a PWO that has a ton of caffeine on a stomach full of carbs doesn't help me from being a fart monster either. :basket:
 
I use to get into PWOs but I take l-citrulline and arginine to open up the veins......cafffeine restricks the veins, and i would take 400mgs. weined off of it. now just do an intra workout.......and listen to 5 finger death punch really loud....gets me moving

Lol the proper music gets me moving more than ANY pre-workout or any other supplement for sure.
