Estrogen E2 Questions

I've seen a lot of posts about high levels of E2 and have a question. Can a higher level of E2 cause a man to be more emotional?

Overall I think I've been doing well on the Maximus conservative protocol but I think the HCG really whacks my E2 up. I don't know if I can accurately assess anything with the "nipple" tests. I'm not sure what people mean when they say "sensitive" nipples. Would anyone equate this to having let's say "perky" nipples? Sorry to cut this so thin but I guess I'm interpreting sensitive as something bothersome and I don't have that.

Any insight you can give would be appreciated. Also, my feeling is that I'm going to want to drop the HCG and just go with Test Cyp and arimidex, saving HCG for an as needed solution if the sack gets a little smaller down the road.

Yes High E2 can absolutely make you more emotional. I was having similar issues and I feel like I am now dialed in pretty well. I am very prone to gyno symptoms so I will try to explain the stages. First, you nipples will get perky. I know that sounds weird but they also may be sensitive without you really knowing. I usually find out the hard way when I am benching in the gym and hit the nips with the barbell. It could hurt like hell when they are sensitive. HCG was also causing a spike in E2 for me. After bloodwork I realized my E2 was creeeping up as well as SHBG so I cut back on Test a bit and things are great now. My current protol still includes HCG but I did raise my Arimidex to 1mg one day after Test, and .5mg 2 days after Test. HCG is one day after test. When people mention senstive nipples, you can very simply press on them and it will hurt. It's hard to explain, but the pain is a little sharper than a bruise type pain.

What is your current protocol?

When my e2 was high, I knew without doubt that I had sensitive nips. I was like WTF is this...

Yes HCG can and will raise e2, and everybody is different. I can run quite a bit without issues. As far as the sac getting small. We're talking weeks and there gone to the size of peanuts. My wife could care less about my sac size, which is really nice, but I do feel better/hornier on HCG.

I'm no doc, but I would ask maximus what they think. Personally I would run what you are running, and have them tell you what you should be running with your arimidex. Explain everything to them. They understand how the whole thing works damn well.

I'm on 200mg of test cyp e5d with 500 mg of HCG the day before test injection and 1mg of anastrozole the day after. I did modify the anastrozole after reading a lot on this board and I'm now taking 1/2 tablet every other day. My nipples (before starting trt) were itchy. After modifying the anastrozole the itchiness has gone away so I think it's heading in the right direction. I do have libido returning and in the last few weeks, strong morning and night time wood. I'm looking to see if I can talk to Steve or Mike this week.

I appreciate your thoughts on this subject and the extra detail - thanks for taking the time!

Thanks Frustrated1, I think the HCG is what is causing my emotional and nipple sensitivity issues. I will talk to Maximus about running it differently. I have no future concerns about fertility but don't want my boys disappearing. However, if it came down to feeling like I do now and having a tiny sack, I'd say bye-bye to my balls without hesitation. :beer toast

I'm trying to log how I feel including morning/night wood. Oh the things we do huh? Never thought I would have a boner log. But I'm trying to prove the correlation to the HCG shot. Once I have that, I'll call Steve or Mike.

That's a great idea to keep a log. That is how I figured out of my own issues out. Without it I would forget everything.

A log is a great idea. And I think very important if you reduce or remove hcg. I would personally suggest that you get your e2 and total test done now so that you have numbers that give you wood to correlate to.
