First Cycle & High BP (Help Please)

Hi all, started my very first cycle a few days ago (Test-e). There was a free BP check where I work, so I stopped by to have it checked. 172/110. The nurses looked shocked and told me I'm going to be in trouble if I don't get this in control. Is it possible the Test-e has raised my BP this much in only a couple of days? I used to take Adalat for high BP, but I found I was able to keep it in check by eating clean.

Now I'm wondering if it's ok to start taking the Adalat again while on cycle. The nurses have me a little worried, but I don't want to quit the cycle. Any suggestions / comments would be appreciated.

Thanks..

I don't see how a couple days of test e can raise BP that much, test e usually takes a few weeks to kick in anyway cause the Esther so I wouldn't think so. Def go see a doc tho, that is extremely high.

You weren't using that put your arm in and hit the button machine were you? Those are complete garbage.

I just donated blood at the Red Cross yesterday and when they measured my BP it was a 6point difference from that machine thing. Not saying you should rely on it but its not the worst thing out there lol.

OP, BP varies a lot through the day and you should get it checked again just to make sure that reading was accurate and consistent. Are you taking an AI? AI's can help control BP on cycle. Also talk to your doctor about possible remedies if its truly high BP

It depends on the persons arm size. Those machines are made for an average size and if your arm is large the machine will show high bp. Big arm small cuff equals high bp, and little arm big cuff shows very low bp. I'm nearly 15-20 points off from the machine to my dr.

the test can start raising bp pretty much from the first day. bp can be treated with your bp meds while on cycle. i would make the bp a much higher priority than the cycle if i where you. id make a quick call to the doc that treated you before right now.

yea if you have to squeeze your arm into a machine it doesnt stand a chance at an accurate reading. even if it is meant for your size arm they usually arent too good.

What was your bp prior to your cycle starting? Test causes an elevation of estrogen which leads to water retention which causes elevated blood pressure. If you just started a few days ago though, I doubt your body has had enough time to generate a considerable amount of estradiol. I would most certainly get back on the Adalat and make sure you have an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) lined up. If your numbers still don't come down, a trip to the doc may be warranted as others have suggested.

My .02c :)

At the beginning of my first two cycles my BP got high which made me feel kinda bad but after about two weeks it leveled off......just me experience.
