To be successful, formulating a plan is essential.
* What is my long term goal?
* What can I do today, that will ensure success tomorrow?
* What do I need to eat/drink, to get me where I need to be?
* How do I need to train to reach my goals?
* Do I need a training partner to do what I’m doing?
* How can I fit my training into my family and social life?
* Is my social life holding me back?
* Do I need a change of training venue?
* What clothing/equipment could I get to make it easier for me to be successful?
* What are my short term goals?
And there’s more…. Loads more!
I see so many people walk through that gym door with no plan. No idea what to do right there and now. And that is purely because they haven’t sat down and addressed those questions listed above.
Training by going through the motions is pointless. It will achieve very little, if anything. It will become tedious and boring very quickly – and more often than not will lead to nothing at all.
Take a step back, open your eyes, use your vision and try and look to the future.
* Who motivates you?
* Who has ‘that look’ that you want to emulate?
* Who stirs up emotions in you to get off that sofa and get your arse into gear?
Once you have answered this, research how ‘they’ train, find out what ‘they’ eat.
See how ‘they’ do it.
Now you can begin to formulate your plan of attack.
Then set your goals accordingly. Set a long term goal. Divide this long term goal into achievable short term goals and make them realistic but challenging.
Only then will you be able to see method in your madness, everything will start to make sense again, rather than constantly flogging a dead horse.
And then trust me, once you start ticking off those boxes and the short term goals are being achieved. The results will spur you on even more.
What you waiting for people?
Get working on YOUR plan!
