Four days after injection?

I started TRT back in December after experiencing typical low testosterone symptoms. My initial total testosterone count was 365 out of scale 348-1197. My doctor prescribed protocol is 100mg of cypionate weekly. Anyhow, after 7 weeks, I ordered my own trough total testosterone lab work and it came back at 385. speaking with the doctor, she was happy with my trough value. Importantly, I explained to her that I only felt some positive results for a few days during the first two weeks and since then, the shots have done practically nothing.

I don't want to get hung up on numbers and I feel the doctor is really just ignoring me and paid no attention to me when I said that I have felt ZERO benefit the past 6 weeks. I've read TONS and hoped the cyclical cypionate half lives would eventually make me feel “normal”.

I IM injected one shot last Friday of 200mg and took a blood test today to see what the mid-level shows. What was REALLY strange, I felt absolutely no benefit from the shot until about Tuesday. Suddenly, on Tuesday I had lots of energy and felt great!

Why did it take 4 full days before I felt any benefit? I'm naturally slim, higher BMR.

The ester causes the testosterone to be released slowly. That is why it takes several week to reach blood saturation levels when you start TRT. 7 weeks is enough time though. But oine injection of the higher dose is not enough time at all.

Have you tried injecting twice a week instead of once? Many of us find that it helps keep Hormone levels more stable.

Where did your estradiol come in at on your blood work?

There is a sticky in the TRT forum called Basic TRT Overview. I would encourage you to give it a read.

P.S. Four days after your last injection is not your trough. Your trough is on the day you inject but before having done said injection. Your doc needs to bump up your dose.

Thanks for the responses! I've read the sticky posts numerous times over the past few months and understand how TRT is a bit of a black art- everyone responds differently. Also, to answer your question regarding my estrogen, the Estradiol came back at 20.1 (8-35 scale).

To clarify, I understand my trough is the level just prior to my next injection. I injected 200mg and took a blood test 7 days later to determine the midpoint if the cycle was over a week period. So, the doctor didn't move me to an increased testosterone cypionate level, she seems to think if I inject 200mg every TWO weeks it would be better- lol, I know!

Anyhow, I'm frustrated the doctor thinks my 7 day trough of a total testosterone level of 385 is good when I still feel the negative effects of low testosterone. After my latest total testosterone count comes back on Monday, I'll discuss with the doctor. However, I just get the feeling she doesn't appreciate my concerns. I'm highly considering moving to an online TRT solution like IMT.
