Frequency of TRT related

Hi,

Taking a break from Friday night coctails to ask some burning testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) questions....

First, how often is new bloodwork required to stay on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?

When on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) (particularly through Maximus), how often do the scrips need to be written and refilled (i.e. can you purchase, say, a six month supply all at once?).

Finally, should I call and talk to Chip before filling out the forms on the website - or can I just fill em out now and get the ball rolling?

each persons protocol will be different and dependent on their needs.

Call or email Chip to give him a heads up and then get your paperwork to him ASAP. You won't be sorry.

Blood work is REQUIRED every 12 months to stay current. I disagree with this, though. I feel you should have new labs drawn every 6 months, at least, if not every 4 months. It definitely in your best interest to do so.

As for scripts, they are written in accordance to your current protocol and any time that a change in protocol is necessary. You are able to put in a request for medication any time you'd like. Sometimes it is more "financially convenient" to request lesser quantities of medication than others. Every client's history is tracked by our doctor's and our pharmacies so that a client is never overprescribed.

The industry, as a whole, is turning away from allowing clients to be issued "6 months" of medication, in advance. There is really no need or use for it. 3 months of medication/course of therapy is quickly becoming the norm. And I'm fine with that.

And "getting the ball rolling" by submitting your medical questionnaire, online, is definitely the first step to a better "YOU" in 2011!

ALL HAIL MAXIMUS BANANAMUS FRUITILIUS!!!

Wow, nice avatar - nothing fruity about that banana, lol.

Thank you kindly for the replies, Chip and RJ! Although I know there is no way to put a "price" on getting back to feeling like a real person again (and doing it PROPERLY and SAFELY!), am just trying to get a better gauge of the potential total costs involved - you know, to see if I need to trade down to a smaller trailer, or let the kids run around without pampers for a few months out of the year to get this done.

So, for now I'm tacking on at least two labs, four scrip fees and four shipping fees to the potential yearly budget...

...any chance you could email me that list of approved meds and prices?
