i like the front squat alot. lately ive been changing alot of things and this is one of my favorites. it takes a little more coordination and balance to perform correctly. I like the challenge.
i like front squats with a clean grip. you really have to work on this to begin with as you gain flexibility. i've tried a cross grip but wasn't too secure with it. some things while using a clean grip:
1) make sure your upper arm doesn't slant downwards or else the bar can roll down
2) the chest has to be puffed out ("chest proud" like they say) and shoulders pinched (similar to a flat bench set up). this will enable you to hold the bar comfortably on your delts.
3) the bar should be primarily resting on your delts with the hands holding it in place.
