Gluten free bread, is it worth it?

Hey you'll, a new cafe/bakery just opened up down the street and part of their marketing strategy is to go gluten free on all their breads. Every single bread and cake they make is advertised as gluten free and they are giving gluten (wheat) a bad rap. I know one thing for sure and that is that wheat equals fiber right? AND fiber is great for our bodies and colon. I love fiber and all foods that contain fiber and my constitutions are very healthy. Should I give these guys a piece of our minds? I know you guys know more than some wanabe baker trying to make a buck. thoughts?

i have celiacs disease.. and gluten free bread is a life saver for me... so in my case i wanna kiss the cook lol

thanks but outside of your personal diet, is it good or not? You are the man when it comes to diet advice so I will take your advice to heart!

I agree with Mega, it makes no sense to only offer gluten free.

There are loads of studies showing the health benefits of grains but alot of the pro-gluten guys are determined to call them the devil.
Unless you have celiacs disease like 3j, or are really sensitive to gluten (stomach upsets, etc), there are no health benefits attached to going gluten free for you personally.

You could go to the baker and argue your point or you could accept that in these situations you cant fix stupidity :)

the baker is trying to cash in on a fad... that's all he is doing.. he is providing people with something they want.. its just a smart business move on his part..

at the same time, it helps people like me enjoy foods i usually cant
