Hi guys,
First time poster, I hope this is the right thread. I initially had low testosterone a couple of years ago (9 nmol/L total testosterone when the reference range was 10 to 33 and 132 pmol/L free testosterone compared to the reference range of 150 to 700). I changed my diet (eating much more protein), took zinc, vitamin D, iron and fish oil supplements as well as getting more sleep. Through this combination my total testosterone rose to 31 nmol/L and my free testosterone to 701 pmol/L by May this year. View attachment 567224
This was fine until December last year when hard lumps suddenly appeared behind both my nipples. I had an ultrasound and was diagnosed with gyno. A blood-test revealed elevated e2 of 158 pmol/L (compared to a reference range of <150). View attachment 567225
The gyno lumps grew pretty rapidly until I was able to get an endocrinologist appointment last month. I was put on letrozole 2.5mg once per week but I ended up splitting up the tablets and averaging about 1.3 tablets (3.25mg) per week because I kept getting rebound lumps, pain and swelling between doses.
Blood-test just came back this week and my e2 has actually risen to 176 pmol/L whilst my total testosterone has doubled to 52 nmol/L as has my free testosterone to 1363 pmol/L. View attachment 567226
Whilst this might seem great for someone who has never used steroids, my hair is falling out, my acne is so bad I don't want to leave the house and gyno keeps coming back whenever I try to taper letrozole.
I have just started taking raloxifene 60mg per day. I would really appreciate some advice on how I should taper letrozole so that my testosterone levels gradually return to upper normal range without a massive e2 rebound. At the same time, I'm trying to keep gyno at bay to avoid spending thousands of dollars on surgery.
Thanks in advance.
