Hand vacuum pump??????????????????????

I am doing much research to brew some test for myself. I can get a couple different filter systems, but they only come with a hand vacuum pump. Anyone have any experience?

Hand vacuum pump is good for small amounts. It's good for bottle top filters.
But if you're going to filter amounts over 250ml it's better to purchase a vacuum pump like this : 1.5 CFM Portable High Vacuum Pump (Qty. 1) | Pumps, Filtration Accessories | Filtration | Med Lab Supply

If you go hand pump route, invest in a good one. I bought a cheap one and definitely regretted the decision.

If your cheap an old fridge/water cooler/ac compressor will work. Just solder on a brass hose barb to the suction side, fix the wiring nice, and add a handle.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely check into other vacuums before settling on a hand vacuum

I bought a brake bleeder pump from the auto store. Works good
