Have Any of you Ladies Tried a Diet with ONLY Fruits and Veggies as Carbs?

I'm going to try this. Except for before I workout I will have oatmeal or ezekiel bread. So 4 times per week I will have a starchy carb.

I figure why not?

I know that my body will have to get used to the enzymes from the fruits/veggies and in turn I'll be gassy. However my flora in my stomach will build up and once I'm past that stage I should be good.

My sister tried a diet similar to this, except no starchy carbs at all. as far as training she only does cardio though.
The diet didn't work out well for her body, she ended up with diarrhea :(
Hopefully that doesn't happen for you. I could easily give up starchy carbs for fruit and veggies!
Good Luck Miss Muscle!

I am really carb sensitive and have a gluten allergy so for most of my life I avoided starchy carbs.

I would start off with small amounts and then increase them as time goes on the lessen the chance of intestinal issues.

Keep us posted on how it goes!

^ same here, as much as I hate it, I gotta deal with it...was so happy when I found out though. I believe dropping like 20 lbs just by cutting them out

So far so great! Lots of fruits.....about 4-5 servings daily. And about 4-5 servings veggies. One other carb. I decided on the extra carb every day.

No explosive diarrhea and I was sort of expecting that.

I find that having plenty of fruit curbs my sweet cravings very well. Although I do drink 1 or 2 diet pops daily as well. I also eat 30-50 calories of sugar free suck candy. It has sugar alcohols but I tolerate them well.

It's only been 4 days but I'm quite surprised and pleased by how well my body is reacting. I feel great and am not bloated and have even lost 1 pound.

I'll periodically keep you updated!

That's awesome to hear! Glad it's working out in your favor :)

I wish I didn't bloat so much from diet soda, I find it's one of the easiest no calorie treats to curb a sweet craving...

Looking forward to the updates!

Would you mind sending that diet to me?? I'd be curious to check that out that diet. That chick's got a killer body!!

Losing fat......crazy shit! AND I know this is kind of a weird thing to note but when I take a bowel movement it is alot lighter/smaller than before. I'm assuming that is due to the water content of fruit and veggies.

Hello all. I am 10 minutes new to this site. Very interested in starting back a new game plan. I've never utilized much besides an ECA stack, which worked. I did in fact only eat fruits and vegetables. I became a vegetarian and only ate kidney beans as my protein. Also, I did like 2hrs of cardio daily, nothing else. In just a few weeks, 11 pounds dropped! Besides the crazy jitters (which made me feel good that it was working), the only other thing I didn't like was the smell it gave me. Maybe I just wasn't drinking enough water. Also, I did take Super Cleanse daily and it was amazing. My body was on looking great. Ready to get back on it and start back from square one. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I am definitely excited about joining this site. I don't know of any females in the game only males. It's good to get a woman's perspective. Looking forward to hearing back from you all. Take care.

I'm just curious Miss Muscle, with this diet are you taking in just proteins and veggies and fruit? Or do you include fats as well?

Absolutely. Udo's, oils, nuts, almond butter, etc.

I had a big cheat this weekend though....wine, pizza, dairy queen, tim hortons, etc. Much too big. But that's okay.

Are you still on the fruit and veggie diet?? how did that work out for you?
How was your energy level while training?

It worked out excellent. I'm not on it as I lost weight quicker than I thought. I only have 4 pounds more to go by the middle of August and I can do that with starchy carbs in my diet, so I have no need to be on my veggie/fruit diet any longer.

Although I still eat approx 8 servings of veggies and 2-3 servings fruit daily.

And I only do cardio every second day as well. So things went very very well.

You could still follow a low-carb diet even with some starchy foods. Someone mentioned that you could have intestinal issues by going on a veggie and fruit diet. Would yogurt help to put good bacteria back into your stomach?

No intestinal issues. having starchy carbs often enough works. I do take psyllium husk daily anyways.

I don't eat yogurt but I have recently (last 3 months) started taking a probiotic daily. It's a 75 calorie yogurt type drink. I can't believe how healthy I've been.

I'm very pro probiotics.
