HCG Monotherapy? ............................

Why does your doc want you off it?
Is it because of the study with cardiac risk, blood clots etc

I can tell he is worried about the health risks of testosterone therapy.
It's my understanding that scripts are really declining in low-normal T guys. Unless you have levels way below 300 a lot of docs are taking a second look at prescribing TRT.
It's really unfortunate cause the stuff does work and help many people. Androgel sales have gone down 30% in the last year.

What if you were on the low end of the scale before TRT? 124 when i started.
Depends what your LH / FSH was...
Even then you won't know if it works till you try it.
How long have you been on TRT ?
Have you used HCG while on TRT ?

Ya. You might want to look into seeing what the HCG will do for you if you decide to try it.

if it brings your levels to normal why not

I would argue that HCG monotherapy would be problematic due to a couple issues. One being the increase in prolactin and the other being the increase of aromatization within the leydig cells of the testicles. Also, many people find that desensitization occurs over time when using too much hcg or too often. Some of these sides may be controllable by using other preventative measures such as anti-aromatase medication. Everyone's body is different and he could very well have solid parameters for everything else, but it's important to consider HRT as a holistic approach to optimizing all hormone levels, not just raising T to "normal" levels.

Christ, two flawed studies indicating blood clots and stroke/death, and the sky is falling.

Sorry OP, I have not done HCG mono - but I'm primary, and it wouldn't do much for me. Hope it works for you, and I totally worry for those guys that have healthy nuts; they're going to get clots and have a stroke because of that nasty testosterone. ;)

If I was secondary hypo Id try clomid therapy or hcg mono before id go right to injections. If I could maintain leydig cell function & have good T levels with good quality of life I would.

2 studies ?
I thought there was 1 ?

What can we do as TRT guys to reduce blood clots and keep complications like this from arising ?
Is it out of our control or can something be done about it (I.e. make some lifestyle changes ?)

One regarding clots (FDA is issuing a warning), the other for stroke/heart problems/death. Pseudo-science at its finest. :(

Here's an article about the latest study, which disproves the flawed study(s) you are referring to.

Latest Study Finds No Link Between Testosterone Supplements, Heart Attack ? WebMD

As it says in the link, the study shows no link between testosterone and heart attacks. Unfortunately, I bet it won't make the headlines, because it's not scary, bad news.
