Frosty seems to think that if someone doesnt eat the way he does then somehow they are unhealthy yet he talks about eating things like whole milk by the galon, whole eggs by the dozen, meat by the pound, cooking in lard or butter and tries to make that sound healthy.

Bottom line is everyone is different and for every study out there, there are 10 more contridicting it.

Are science and doctors biased and unknoelwdgable about many things at times? Yes

But so are authors who write books to sell to young accolytes.

I think the best thing to do would be to look at your family's history and wherever they fucked up, do the opposite to avoid and I emphasize "avoid" (cant necessarily guatantee the sames will or will not happen, life's a bitch ya know) the same pitfalls.

And that can apply to nutrition, exercises, carreer, basically life in general.

If it's working why fuck it up and if it aint working find a way to fix it.

Milhouse, I can see how you would think that i'm saying everyone should eat high fat and all that from this thread. Let me please make myself clear on this.

The only reason I'm talking about eating high fat/cholesterol in this thread is to prove a point. That point is that the science doesn't back up this idea that cholesterol and saturated fat causes heart disease.

That is why I am talking about groups of people that ate extremely large amounts of saturated fat and cholesterol and did not have a problem with cholesterol or heart disease (or much of any disease, for that matter). It wouldn't make much sense for me to discuss groups that didn't eat tons of fat when trying to prove my point!

I will definitely agree that people are different. Some do good on high fat and others do good on high carb. Each person needs to find out what works for them and in the mean time make healthy selections of foods that provide the body with the nutrients it needs. Eggs can be eaten in a high carb diet just fine, and they provide a great deal of vitamins and minerals. Not to mention EFAs.

Prana came out with the bold statement that this heart - cholesterol theory is proven fact, so all I did was ask for the proof. She made the statement, she has to back it up. All I have to do is sit back and poke holes in it. It isn't very difficult if just some kid can do it! If there were a clear correlection between dietary cholesterol and/or saturated fat and the development of heart disease, then it should be EASY to create a study that would show this. Study some individuals, then increase the dietary cholesterol and saturated fat. If the theory is correct, you should see a sharp increase in CHD. Then lower it again, and there should be a corresponding decrease in CHD.

There are no studies like this. There is lots of contradictory information and lots of things that haven't been answered if this theory is going to be believed to be true. People have just accepted it as fact since it has been repeated so many times, but no one seems to actually be able to prove it. It's almost like thinking the earth was flat a long time ago. You'd think the cholesterol - heart theory was written in the bible based on the ferocity of the responses when you question it.

No, I really don't get it. Someone just tell me why what I posted would be a good reason for me to get banned.
